The Gallo-Roman Museum is located in the city centre of Tongeren, in the shadow of the Basilica of Our Lady. Architectural firm De Gregorio & Partners opted for a powerful architectural design with few details. The natural stone facade and the relatively modest above-ground structure allow the museum to blend into its surroundings. The building is quite enclosed with scattered openings that give you views of the city. Filtered daylight enters through sunken patios, in a reference to archaeology.
