Collection-research

Registering, documenting and researching the collection are core tasks of the museum. To do this, we work together with all kinds of specialists from Belgium and abroad. Archaeologists as well as classicists, historians and geologists are all among our frequent collaborators.

As a student you are also welcome to research collection pieces, for example in the context of a master’s or doctoral thesis. Contact us to discuss possibilities.

All these new insights are ultimately incorporated into our permanent exhibition. We also report about them in the lecture series Spraakwater. And we often publish contributions in trade journals and catalogues.

The Gallo-Roman Museum makes many research publications available online, via the platform Academia. This is freely accessible to everyone.
