Roman villa landscape - Borgloon

Bollenberg in Borgloon is the location of the Roman villa landscape landmark. This design by artist Hans Lemmen is an opportunity to reflect upon the importance of Haspengouw and its unique landscape for the Romans. Along the Roman Road (the Roman Tongeren-Tienen route) there is a breathtaking panorama of the Roman landscape. The artist has placed there five or so terracotta-coloured concrete benches and coaches as a reference to the basic shape of a Roman villa residence. The furniture features further details about the Roman villa estates that were located in the vicinity.
